The week is over!!!

  • 1-29-03

At least traffic has been building up at www.casino-gaming-guide.com - I was starting to think I went through all this work building this site and everything and that no one was going to come.  It's taken me about a month and a half to get the search engine hits for the site into the top 10 on most major search engines.  Web promotion sure isn't something that you can do a little bit here and there - I'm on the damn computer every night working on it.

I was going to put a picture of me with t-shirt and a towel to celebrate the first day above freezing, but since it's snowing now, I'm not really counting it as all that exciting.  And since it's going to be 40 or so on Sunday, I will wait until then.

Annoying coworker was out sick today - the office was quiet, relaxed and just wonderful.  No fucking bitching and yelling from her.

Cher must write her songs (or has others write them for her) exclusively for gay people - I mean I'm here listening to "Taxi-Taxi" and I love it, but I can't see a single straight guy going for it.  Those that I have forced to listen to her really can't bring themselves to liking her.  I don't care - I love her - maybe not as much as Jack from Will and Grace, but there's probably not much I wouldn't do to get tickets to any of her concerts if they were around here.

I still haven't received any new pictures for the visitor galleries.  I know that everyone on the internet hasn't submitted their picture yet, so I can think of any good excuses (who doesn't have a digital camera or a scanner nowadays?).  Don't think that it needs to be x-rated or anything (I'd have to "censor" it of course, since this is such a wholesome site) - I'd be happy to put any picture of you (for the visitor gallery) or for the two of you (for the gay couple gallery) up that I receive.  In addition, if you want any text to go with the picture, let me know and make sure you give me a link to your website if you have it, so I can include it with the picture.

I think Moe and I are doing something tonight - but I'm not sure.  I guess that I will just wait and see what we do when he gets home from work.

  • 1-28-03

Not bored, but not totally excited either today.  Who really can be excited on a Tuesday?  I mean except for those sick individuals who actually enjoy going to work, I think that most of us on a Tuesday would sooner be sawing our arms off then rejoining the rat race and making our way to the working world.  It's that day - where you are at work after a Monday, but you still have three days left in the week.  Or at least, I sure would be.

So this morning I am standing on line at Dunkin Donuts and this woman is like ordering $30 worth of Dunkin Donuts food.  How can you order this much and how can you stand there with a stupid smile on your face as the line for all the people who just want a damn cup of coffee keeps growing and growing right out the door?

I stood there for about five minutes.  I was none too happy.

Then I walk into the office to what sound?  Annoying coworker extolling her virtues and running her mouth at about a 1000 words per minute on a caffeine induced high.  Soon to be followed by belches, burps and other unsoundly noises from her cube.  At the least she had a meeting for most of the day and was out of my hair.

But then I had to explain to one of the new people that you had to wait for insurance to kick in - you don't just get it - in case you get fired or you decide not to stay with the job.  I think every place has something like that - get used to it and stop bitching - nothing you are going to be able to do to change it.

Lunch was sitting in atrium at the building trying to stay warm.  I was there with a hat, gloves and a jacket on while eating my sandwich and I was still cold.  That's how cold Boston was today.  When I left this morning, it was -3 degrees outside.  It was only 3 degrees in Boston when I got there.

Coming home wasn't too bad - actually made it earlier than most times.

Now Moe is still at work so I am making myself some dinner before I head out on a grocery shopping expedition and then bed.

I'm back from grocery shopping.  I was just hearing the State of Union address by our President (well I didn't vote for him) and I can tell you that I didn't even bother to listen.  Lets beat the drums of war against some country that someone's father didn't manage to go all the way with and who has a lot of oil, but lets try "diplomacy" when another country has a really big military and has no strategic interests...it's a pretty thin veneer over hypocrisy.  I'm not going to even watch it.

Lets just use for example, every time he talks about how he is going to help the economy, what happens, the stock market takes a dive.  My portfolio can attest to the shitty economy that we have been having for the last several years.

Don't get me started on politics and politicians...ignorant, bigoted, and idiotic politicians at that.

Visited Moe down at the store and now I'm getting ready for bed.  Maybe I'll actually get to sleep early tonight so I'm not at work tomorrow looking like a zombie and wandering around.

  • 1-26-03

How bored do I look today?  Sort of a quiet nothing type day which doesn't bother me one single bit.  I've already gotten out to the storage unit and dumped some stuff that had been sitting around the house and made myself breakfast.  All while Moe is tucked comfortably into bed sleeping like a little bedbug in a rug.  For the rest of the day, I've just got to go out and get some groceries and get some crap at Walmart or some store like that.  You know, the toilet paper, paper towels and stuff.  Where else can you find it for almost no money other than Walmart (even though I despise the store).

I think I might also go back to the storage unit this afternoon, depending on exactly how warm it does get today - to try to find some things (like the shelves to the entertainment unit that I have setup in the bedroom) that I've been looking for and haven't wanted to go searching for because it's been sub-zero outside.

Moe and I finally got to bed last night - sometime around 1 or so.  After we watched a great episode of trading spaces.  One of the homeowner guys comes out naked to help Ty just wearing a tool belt.  I might say, he wasn't all that bad looking.

That raises a question...How does trading spaces seem to find all the wives with gay husbands for the show?  These "straight" men seem a bit too excited and animated when it comes to redecorating to be 100% straight.

There needs to be a gay Trading Spaces episode, much like the BBC did for the Changing Rooms series.  They had a lesbian couple trade rooms with a gay couple and the results were pretty funny.

Of course, we would have to ban Hilde from doing either room in the gay episode because no gay person in their right mind would ever enjoy any of her designs.  I think Laurie and Genevieve would be the two best with maybe Doug too.

Okay, enough Trading Spaces talk.

Our friends mentioned this site to us and it is pretty funny - http://www.ratemyschlong.com/.  You can probably figure out exactly what's going on there too from the name.  You basically get to rate pictures of visitors' dicks.  The best is that you can leave comments and you can also read the comments that people leave - and some are pretty mean, which makes it all the more fun.  It's worth a laugh or two.

I hope to get some work done on here tonight - so if I do, I'll let you know.

  • 1-25-03

January is finally almost over.  Something like 6 days to go or something like that.  Good riddance.  Hopefully February isn't half as cold has January has been.  You know that it's cold when they have to bring in ice breakers to open up Boston Harbor.  That's too damn cold for too damn long.

Though today it was actually, well, not quite, so cold.  I think it got up to the lower 30's and here we were without jackets running around going "it's warm, it's warm".

Moe and I got the idea to do a road trip today - so we set off on a big loop down Route 3 to the Cape, up to Hyannis on the Cape, then back up 495 to home.  I think that it really ended up taking up most of the day and we got to have lunch on the Cape, so that was really fun.  Plus it was good to just be the two of us in a car - talking and chatting the entire way (at least when Moe was awake).

Afterwards we found Sharon and got deserts with her (as our lunch on the Cape was quite late).  Then came back home to an empty house (Alicia is staying at friends) so we just enjoyed the solitude.

Sorry about the lack of entries this past week - it actually went by quite quickly and I never had a chance to sit down and do any work.  Well, that's  a lie, but I wasn't on the computer all that much.

But I'm back...and wishing the weekend would last about 6 days instead of being just two and already being half over...

  • 1-21-03

There's new pictures up!  I create a new gallery of the pictures from my ski trip around North Lake and South Mountain with my father this past weekend.  I also played hooky today with a "personal day" that I decided to use.  Hell, we get three of them a year, so why not use it.

Even though I have the migraine from hell, I've still gotten that gallery up and running.  The migraine medicine isn't doing anything and it feels like nails slowly pushing out of my head.

Haven't received any new pictures for the visitor galleries.  I know that everyone hasn't submitted their picture yet.  Don't think that it needs to be x-rated or anything (I'd have to "censor" it of course, since this is such a wholesome site) - I'd be happy to put any picture of you (for the visitor gallery) or for the two of you (for the gay couple gallery) up that I receive.  In addition, if you want any text to go with the picture, let me know and make sure you give me a link to your website if you have it, so I can include it.

So there, start sending those pictures in!

I have to wonder looking at my tracking statistics, why "Speedos and Star Trek" is the most popular search string used that finds this website.  I believe I have a link to a personal website with that in the title on the link page, but no where else on JeffandMoe.Net.  I just can't believe there's all that many people who are interested in people in Star Trek wearing Speedos.  I sure wouldn't want to see Captain Kirk running around in one!  Don't get me wrong, I love Star Trek, but not in that way...

Just for the record, today's high was like 11 degrees and no warm weather is expected until at least next Monday - and that's like a whopping 30 degrees or so...I think I saw a polar bear chasing a penguin down the street.

  • 1-20-03

So what do Moe and I do when we finally have a chance to be alone?  We headed down to Foxwoods and actually didn't spend money gambling (well, not all that much) but we had a chance to actually talk to one another on the car ride down, the entire time there and the whole way back.  We had a very nice dinner and we just had a great time.  Now that's how it is supposed to be.

In the morning I took my car over to the dealer to get my oil change.  You know what bothers me?  My owners manual says change the oil every 7500 miles (for the RAV4) yet when I go in, they put the little sticker in for only 3000 miles.  Now that's a bit of false advertising.  If I was some dope who never read my manual, I'd be getting my oil changed every 3000 miles and paying twice for something that only needs to be done once.  Makes me want to write to the Attorney General or something.

I was working on my father's book and on helping my casino guide website get higher search engine rankings.  Moe and I are really trying to make something with it and it is getting better and better.  Now if we could only get some people to actually start gambling through the site, it would be even better and we'd probably be rich too.  If you want to check it out, it's at www.casino-gaming-guide.com.

So hopefully tomorrow I'll get some pictures from the ski trip this weekend up.

  • 1-19-03

I'm not sure if I am awake enough to be writing here.  Had a good weekend in New York skiing for almost the entire time and now I have taken some aspirin so that I can walk around.  When you use a muscle you haven't used in like a year, it gets really sore.

I took some pictures while I was out there, so hopefully by tomorrow, I'll get them up for everyone.

  • 1-16-03

So the week is almost finally over - one more day.  However, I can only guess what life will throw at me tomorrow for the finale of one week that has been longer than most.

First I do know that it's supposed to snow and I have to drive to NY - so that's a wonderful thought.  My only hope is that it stays so cold so that anything that falls, just sort of blows around and never accumulates.

Boston hasn't gotten above freezing in like a week and a half - the Charles is even starting to get some ice on it.

Didn't get around to any new updates tonight - too busy playing webmaster at casino-gaming-guide.com that I'm putting together.  If you have an urge to gamble online - check it out - otherwise it probably won't interest you.

The trolleys on the E Line of the Green Line in Boston were broken for the last two days - so the subways have been hell.  I don't see any enjoyment in standing face to face with some fat guy who doesn't seem to know what deodorant is.  I'll wait for another train, but they are just as packed.  I guess it beats driving in city traffic - but I don't know by how much.

I did get some web browsing done (you can tell how much oomph I had) after I got back from dinner with Sharon.  Moe was closing tonight - so she and I went to Bugaboo Creek - mmm...good... however, the desert kind of didn't sit right (that mud pie is an awful lot of coffee ice cream) - we shared it - but it was still too much.  Then we bought a few scratch tickets in deference to our old gambling habits - and we played those for a while before we cut ourselves off and went to visit Moe.  Then like I said - I got back here and expended all that energy web browsing.

At least tomorrow is Friday - hallelujah!

Then I'm off to NY for the weekend - but will be back on Sunday night.  Taking the camera with me - so hopefully some shots of some good skiing come next week!

  • 1-15-03

Why is it so freaking cold?  This is like day number 6 or 7 of it never getting above freezing.  Walking Boston streets is no longer any fun.

Holy Cow I did some updating!  There's a new (small) gallery of pictures from our Christmas in NY.  Otherwise just some cleanup throughout the site.

Still have to make it to the storage unit to get my skis.

And survive another two days at the office...

  • 1-14-03

Moe and I tossed and turned all last night - so much for going to bed early I suppose.  So this morning was pretty rough on both of us.  He had to open and I as usual had to get up and go at my normal time.  When I got home from work tonight, he was sound asleep.

I slept for a while too - but then forced myself up to pay some bills.  He too managed to get out of bed and we headed out to go to the bank and get gas.  I took what little money I had left in my checking account to make it through the next two days.  Then, thank god, I get paid on Friday.  I'm sick of being the poor boy.  I have people at work trying to give me money because they feel bad when I get a small lunch so I can make the money last all week.

This Sunday will be two weeks with visiting a casino...

Looks like I am going to NY to visit my parents this weekend.  I'll be meeting my father at their cabin in the Catskills and we'll spend the weekend skiing.  That's cool because I really need to get out and do stuff and there's like 4 feet of snow on the ground which will make backcountry skiing awfully great.

Now I just have to find my skis and boots in the storage unit.

And then survive the next three days in the office.  I'm already wondering if I should use some personal time to leave early on Friday - that's how much I hate being in the office for an entire week.  At least last week I got out on Wednesday for a field meeting.

And one last thing - why's it so freaking cold in Boston?  I lived through temperatures 20 to 30 degrees below zero in Maine and was fine - if not downright comfortable.  But here, anything below 20 feels like I am living in Antarctica.  It's got to be the wind in Boston, no matter where you go it blows and it just chills you right down, no matter what you are wearing.

  • 1-13-03

Holy fucking shit it's Monday.

So I can't fall asleep last night and then I dream about being awake all night.  Then the alarm goes off and I can't even figure out where I am.  Then I get in the shower and think that I take a shower.  I know I used soap.

But I get to work and I realize I never washed my hair.  I was in the shower for 10 minutes and all I remember is running a bit of soap over my body.  I must have been asleep for half the time.

Then I spend the day yawning and trying to stay awake.

I get home and crash.  Then get up and make dinner for Moe and I before I'm ready to crash again and now I'm on my way to crashing.

  • 1-12-03

Okay - you've got to show your love for JeffandMoe.Net and vote here for our site!  This is another personal site (Tony's World) that is a great site and is running a competition.  Vote as many times as you want (and make sure it's for us!).  Thanks!

Another relaxing Sunday - I'm starting to get into these.  This one, thankfully was without a trip to the casino.  Though with only about $80 to my name for the next week, it's not like I could have gone even if I wanted to.  I've sworn off gambling for the time being in order to make sure that I get everything else finished with my money before hand.

I got up and made breakfast for Moe and I.  It's amazing how well one of those outdoor George Foreman Grills work for bacon.  If you haven't tried it - it's great.  You dump the bacon on it, close the lid and come back in about 20 minutes, move it around, come back 10 minutes later - and bam!  you've got perfectly cooked bacon.  So bacon, eggs and some great coffee got us going for the morning.

After tackling the reorganization of the apartment yesterday, we were supposed to go to the storage unit today - but we never made it.  I came up with the excuse that it was way to cold to go.  That seemed to work.

So we caught up on VH1's "I love the 80's" series and then Moe had to go to work at 3 - so I headed out and went grocery shopping (Breyers was on sale!!!).  Then I made dinner and brought some down to him.  Then I thought to myself, I've got all this change laying around and I need money - so I rolled it all and then went back down to the store and cashed it all in.  Now I'm $25 richer with all that change and I have money to buy lunch tomorrow.

Now it's a quarter to midnight and I really should be in bed - really, really should be.  But I'm here typing this and downloading some cool shit off the net (WinMX is a great program).  I think that it's only proper that I still need more music even though I have a gig and a half of it.  I don't even buy CD's anymore - the net is so much better - though is a bit of guilt in doing it - but it goes by awfully quickly.  The only CD I have recently bought is Tori Amos' new CD and Howie Day's CD.  I was at her concert this fall and he was the opening act - they are both great CD's.

Now I'm really going to bed!

  • 1-11-03

Now the freaking connection works for the last two days.

Moe and I redecorated the entire apartment - I'm not even sure I recognize our bedroom anymore.  Now if we could just have Alicia move out - then we could redecorate the entire thing and her room would make an excellent entertainment room.

Then in the afternoon we met his Mom and his sister along with an aunt of his for Chinese food at this place over in Wellesley.  It's always the best Chinese food and it was a good time.  It's not too often you get a $200 Chinese food bill.

Afterwards everyone else was already out doing stuff - so we stopped at Sharon's to pick up some stuff we had forgotten the other night and then went home and just were homebodies for the rest of the night.  We watched Hilde put up records this time in a room instead of hay.  I guess it is a step up from hay.  So yes, it was a trading spaces night.

Now we're just getting ready for bed :)

I'm glad to see that there are some discussions happening in the new Discussion section - I just want to give people a chance to chat and talk.

Plus I'm sure you've seen the plea, but this site does cost money and lately I've put up some new banners and advertising - all in an effort to have the site pay for itself and so we aren't putting too much money into it (lean times you know).  So if you have the inclination - check out some of the banners - or go right to the Blatant Promotions section and check stuff out that way.  It really does help.

  • 1-10-03

Well connection problems kept me away yesterday.  I'm getting sick and tired of AT&T deciding when our broadband connection works.  It seems like half the time it's offline when it should be on all the time.  It really is starting to piss me off.

Otherwise it's been a fairly quiet two days.  Worked, came home and then went back to work.

Moe and I are going to go out tonight and then we aren't really sure what we are going to be doing tomorrow - since we are both off.

  • 1-8-03

Still more snow this morning...

Driving out to Springfield was a bit interesting.  The roads weren't really bad, but everyone was driving like a fool.  It took me about a half an hour to go about 10 miles on 495 to get to the Pike this morning.  That sucked and I didn't have any coffee with me.  Part of my austerity budget plan this week and next week.

The meeting didn't run as long as I expected, so I got home at the wonderful hour of 2 in the afternoon!  It was wonderful to actually be home when it was still daylight outside instead of leaving in the dark and coming home in the dark.  It was starting to get old.

However, it does appear that I will actually make it a full week of working - no vacation, no comp time and no sick time this week and next week should be the same way.

Moe and I are going out with Sharon later for dinner.  Otherwise I think it's just a quiet night.  I did a few updates throughout the site and set up some banners on some pages.  I know people hate ads, but this site does cost money to upkeep and anything earned by the site, goes back into paying for it.  So if you have a chance, check out the Blatant Promotions section and possibly get something that so you can help the site.

Thursday and Friday I have got to be in the office :(  Blah...

At least it should be a good weekend.  If the weather holds Moe and I are probably going to go skiing on Saturday.

  • 1-7-03

You know, it was still snowing this morning...

Then the sun came out for about 3 hours before clouding over again and then it is supposed to be snowing again later tonight.  I'm starting to wonder how much snow we are actually going to get because after tomorrow's storm, we're supposed to get another one on Thursday and then finally have two days without snow by Saturday.

Has anyone caught the commercial where they are like "snow today, snow tomorrow, snow the next day and then we luck out with freezing rain on Friday?"  Every time I hear it, I think it's actually the weather forecast.

I am exploring my new poor status with attempts to spend the least amount of possible each day.  I've got $60 to make it through the rest of this week and next week.  I'm not sure how it's going to happen.  I guess we'll just have to see.

Moe was pretty sick yesterday and last night and didn't feel all that great at work, but now he's starting to feel a little bit better (unsure if it's the medicine or him actually feeling better) so hopefully he'll sleep better tonight and won't be miserable at work tomorrow.  I on the other hand have to work, but I'll just be going to an all day meeting in Springfield.  It's like an hour and a half drive from here, but the meeting will only last a few hours and then I get to come back home.  If you figured out the travel time from Boston - I'd be appearing and then departing the office so the time balances out.  So hopefully, since Moe is opening tomorrow, we'll both be home fairly early and get to spend the night together.

Tonight he's relaxing and working on the McDonalds schedule so he didn't have to stay there later than his short shift today.

I think it's almost time for bed.  I'm trying to keep better hours.

  • 1-6-03

More snow today.  It was snowing when I went to bed last night but had stopped by this morning and then by the afternoon when I was on my way out of the office for a meeting (I managed to find a way out of the office) it was snowing hard again.

Looks almost like it did in Vermont.  Snow is covering all the trees and the snow on the ground is fluffy and light.  Looks like a postcard.

Of course, traffic on 128 wasn't any better because of the snow and that wasn't too pretty.

Moe had the day off and spent it at the mall with Justine (he didn't buy me anything).  After I got home we went and visited Sharon and then got some pizza for dinner.  Nothing too exciting, but it was nice.  We don't have to run around to be happy.

Now it's getting time to be in bed.

Found out that I get out of the office on Wednesday too.  I have an all day meeting in Springfield, so I will get to stay out of the office the entire day.  Leaving from home and then going straight home.  Yeee Haaaw!

  • 1-5-03

Wow a new year!  Old habits die hard and my resolution not to go to a casino died tonight.  Oh well, I guess it lasted for 5 days.  Now I have got to kick myself in the ass and make sure that I stick to it this time.  Afterwards I went and visited Moe.

Good thing that I did all of my shopping yesterday, at least I had money then.  Now I don't have any left.  Guess that I have got to be a hermit for the next two weeks until my next paycheck comes around and that's already accounted for with bills, so no chance to do anything with that.

I think I am going to take my friend's advice, every time I feel like gambling - I take $200 out of the bank, stick it in a box and buy a scratch ticket.  That way within a few months, I've got enough to go on a vacation or pay off a bill and it's not like I wouldn't have spent the money anyway.

Looking at 2 weeks of being stuck in the office.  No holidays, no out of office meetings.  Guess that I will somehow survive.

Got wicked sick last week on Thursday night - woke up on the verge of throwing up and felt like shit for the entire day on Friday.  I actually used a sick day while being sick for a change.  Felt better by yesterday and then today felt fine.
